Hi everyone!
It's over… The first edition of the Sue Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention
is now history. All the raffles have been drawn and the last auction ended
on Monday night. But believe me, it was an amazing conclusion! I have
counted the sums we have raised, I double-checked, and calculated again
to make sure there were no place for errors. I am now ready to announce
the final results…
Drum roll…
We have raised exactly $3,190.53!!! Thank
you so much everyone!!!
In order to make it an easier amount to share between our two charities,
I rounded to total up to $3,200. So each charity received $1,600 - Dog
Guides of Canada for their Hearing Ear Dog program, and the Deaf Culture
Centre for their ASL Dictionary for Children. The donations were made
in the name of the "Cast and Crew of Sue Thomas F.B.Eye."
This amount is absolutely amazing! The competition was fiery in the last
minutes of the auction, the bids going up every time I would refresh my
screen. The autographed script of the pilot episode - donated by Mr. Gary
Johnson - was the most coveted item, and it raised over $700!!!
Thank you to all those who made this Convention possible. Thank you to
my friends and family, who helped me without asking questions, no matter
the mood I was in. Thank you to those who helped me spread the word on
other websites. Of course, thank you to everyone who was present at the
Convention, it was wonderful meeting all of you - you did make this week-end
a success. And thank you to all donators - no matter if you gave $5 or
$1000, without your help, we would have never been able to raise so much
money. Thank you!
This Convention would have never existed without the creators of Sue
Thomas F.B.Eye: Mr. Gary Johnson and Mr. Dave Johnson. And the show would
have never been the same without the actors we all love: Deanne Bray,
Yannick Bisson, Rick Peters, Enuka Okuma, Ted Atherton, Tara Samuel and
Marc Gomes. Thank you so much for your time, your cooperation and your
generosity. You are truly fantastic!
Last, but certainly not least, a very special thank you to Sue Thomas,
a fabulous woman, whose courage and determination have inspired a wonderful
TV show. Thank you very much for your support for the Convention, it means
the world to me.
I know some of you are curious - will there be a second edition for the
Sue Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention??? It is too early to tell, I
still need to catch my breath from organising the first one, but check
back here once in a while, we never know…
So, thank you and I guess all there is to say is: the end -- for now…
