General Information

What is a Convention? According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, it is 'an assembly of persons met for a common purpose'. For us, it's the perfect occasion to meet new friends who share the same passion for a fantastic TV show.

Why a Convention? Well… Some fans like to remember STFBE by reading stories based on the characters of the show. Some others have created websites to honour their favourite actors / characters, or the series itself. Other fans have heated discussions in different forums devoted to STFBE. We wanted to give all these fans the opportunity to meet for one weekend and exchange views on their favourite TV show. Moreover, this Convention will give us the opportunity to combine duty and pleasure, because several raffles and a live auction will help us to raise money for charities involved in the Deaf Community in Ontario. It's a win-win situation for everyone!

We would like to point out that this Convention is organised by fans, for other fans. All the people involved in the Convention do this on a strictly volunteer basis, because they love the show and believe in the good cause we support. Unlike some other conventions, nobody gets paid for the Sue Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention - neither the guests nor the planning committee.

However, some things still require money - the rental of the meeting rooms and equipment, the welcome packages, the items for the auction, etc. - and this is why we have to charge registration fees. The registration will cover all the activities related to the Convention over the weekend.

The contribution to the charities, by purchasing raffle tickets or bidding at the auction, is personal. It could be as little as $5, or if you feel more generous, the sky is the limit! The money raised through raffle tickets and the auction will be donated to charities in the name of the cast and crew of Sue Thomas F.B.Eye.

During the Convention, you may expect:

• The opportunity to get to know other fans with at least one common interest - Sue Thomas F.B.Eye!
• A welcome package for all those who have registered
• Special items that will be handed out during the Convention
• Booths dedicated to the actors / characters from the show
• Fun games, quizzes and activities related to the show
• Raffles with coveted prizes
• A live charity auction on Saturday night with items related to the show

Invitations have been sent to the cast of Sue Thomas F.B.Eye to join us for the celebration, if their schedule cooperates. Please check the Honoured Guests page for more details.
